The EPFO ​​regional office, Jammu, initiated the pension claims process from the offices in Jammu and Kashmir itself. In some cases, the pension is paid to the widow and family members of those same members for whom a pension contribution equivalent to one month’s pension has been paid by the employer.
An official statement states that the Bureau has settled a total of 18 pension claims in Jammu with an initial amount of arrears of Rs. 8.19 Lakh as of May 2022.
The pension claims were settled in r/o Late Kumar Chand – Arti Devi (widow), Sanchi (daughter) and Aadarsh ​​Kumar (son), the monthly pension amount being Rs. 2451/-, Rs. 613/- and Rs. 613/, respectively.
The pension claim was also settled in r/o Late Anchal Dass Bhagat -Sonia Bhagat (widow) with a monthly pension amount of Rs.1923/-. The pension claim was also settled in the dependent parent of r/o Late Satish Kumar (Prithvi) monthly pension amount being Rs 1421/- who visited EPFO, Jammu today to collect PPO. Another pension claim in r/o Late Harjeet Singh was settled in r/o Rajinder Kour (widow), Ivneet Kour (daughter) and Gagandeep Kour (daughter) with monthly pension amount being Rs.1951/-, Rs. 488/- and Rs. 488/- respectively. The pension claim was also settled in r/o Late Wazir Singh Chib-Sunita Devi (widow) with a monthly pension amount of Rs.1881/-.
The Bureau has also handled pension claim cases in the r/o of Dharam Singh monthly pension being Rs. 3808/-, Bawa Ditta with monthly pension Rs. 4167/-, Shri Sanjeet Singh Dutta with Rs. 1081/-, Smt Kamlesh Gupta with Rs. 3236/- and 8 others.
In this context, it is relevant to mention that the monthly pension is available to members if they have ten or more years of service under the 1995 employee pension scheme in one or more establishment(s). Eligible members can benefit from the retirement pension by applying an online application through their UAN login after reaching the age of 58. A monthly pension is also available to the family of EPS members in the event of the unfortunate death of an EPS member while on duty. The family member(s) can receive a monthly pension by applying an offline application through the employer of the deceased member.
