IIT-Guwahati 2021 pre-placements: As the Covid-19 pandemic hit the job market and slowly turned into a recovery, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-Guwahati) has seen a significant increase in pre-placement offers (PPO) this year with 179 PPOs received in the 2021-22 academic year. According to IIT Guwahati, pre-placement offers were the highest in the past three years, earlier in the academic years 2020-2021 and 2019-20, 133 OPPs were received. Most of the offers were in the IT / software, finance, analysts and product profiles sectors.

The increase in pre-placement offers (PPOs) is due to the increase in the number of companies participating in the placement on campus this year, as industries pick up after the Covid-19 pandemic. “The hiring trend is on the rise, especially for technical positions, with more and more companies offering PPO offers through internships. The technical profiles of different organizations have increased compared to last year. In addition, the data science and quantitative profiles saw a large number of openings. No sector was affected, the basic profile remaining stagnant compared to last year, “the statement said.

The institute also expects a good performance in the final placement due to the increase in the number of pre-placement offers (PPO). “The CCD team is very excited and ready for this year’s placement, which will be in a fully virtual model,” said Abhishek Kumar, Manager of the Career Development Center (CCD), IIT Guwahati.

Companies participating in on-campus internships are Google, Microsoft, Apple, Oracle, Sprinklr, JP Morgan and Chase, Goldman Sachs, Bajaj, Uber, Schlumberger, Graviton, Amazon, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm and Nvidia, among others. Last year, the institute received international offers from Japan.
