Mizell Hospital to Open Ambulatory Infusion Center
Mizell Memorial Hospital, with the goal of providing the most comprehensive medical services to the community, announced the opening of an outpatient infusion center on January 18, 2022.
“We provide IV antibiotic and chronic disease infusion therapy services in a friendly and welcoming environment, close to you without the need to travel outside of the local community. Our registered nurses and qualified pharmacists have specialized training in IV infusion therapy and focus on patient safety and comfort. The infusion room is equipped with comfortable reclining chairs and personal tablets for entertainment. We are committed to making your experience enjoyable. We offer a variety of accommodating appointment options that are available Monday through Friday, and include options for daily IV therapy as needed, ”said a press release from Mizell Memorial Hospital.
Outpatient infusion therapy can save patients hundreds or even thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket expenses over inpatient hospitalization, emergency services, and home health care services, as well as save time and travel costs.
Most major insurance companies are accepted, including most state and federally funded plans. Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, and commercially insured patients are eligible for outpatient infusion therapy. A wide variety of payment options are provided. Our mission is to provide our local community with intravenous infusion services close to their homes when they need it.
“Our nurses and case managers are specially trained to provide a wide range of therapies and treat conditions such as infectious diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, CIDP, allergic asthma, allergic urticaria, multiple sclerosis, chronic migraine, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, ”the release says.
Medications offered include IV antibiotics, specialty injectables, blood products, Remicade, IVIG, Tysabri, Xolair, Orencia, Actemra, Benlysta, IV fluids, Neupogen, Procrit, Neulasta and more.
The center is located at 702 N Main St in Opp.
“There is no need to continue traveling outside of the community just because you have always done so. If you or a loved one is currently traveling to Dothan, Montgomery, Mobile or Columbus for IV infusion therapy, please call and speak to our dedicated case management and learn more about our outstanding service.
